Update on flooding caused by Storm Henk
Storm Henk has caused significant disruption to parts of the UK over recent days and has most recently effected around 8 of our marinas. In parts of the midlands and the southwest these have been close to record levels and the extremely heavy rain combined with cumulative recent wet weather has led to major disruption – as no doubt you will have seen in the press.
To support this extreme event, we enacted our local flood plans across our effected sites and are closely monitoring river levels locally and liaising where appropriate with emergency bodies such as the Environment Agency, Canal and River Trust as well as Emergency Services or local harbour authorities. Our marina teams have been keeping our customers updated with locally coordinated communications to keep everyone notified of specific local circumstances. Although the worst of the weather appears to have passed for now, we are now preparing for the clean up and recommissioning of certain sites and dependent on local circumstances this may take some time. To aid this we will work as one team using crew members from across our sites to support the effected locations and seek to restore services or damaged infrastructure as soon as is practical.
We'd like to thank our customers for their patience in anticipation of this, and we will be utilising crew from across our network to support sites over coming days.
