Sawley is the UK’s biggest in­land marina. It’s got 23 acres of water space and more than 600 berths – so it’s basically its own village.

It’s an easy spot to commute from – you’re only a short drive from Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, and there’s great road links to East Midlands airport, Long Eaton train station and the M1. But it’s so quiet around Sawley that you’ll think you’re in the middle of nowhere.

There’s loads to explore on the water. From Sawley, you can get to the Trent & Mersey canal, the River Trent, the River Soar and the Erewash Canal – so you’ve got some great cruising options nearby.

A safe, secure and serviced marina

You have the peace of mind of knowing that you are moored in a safe and secure marina with a wide range of facilities onsite, a welcoming community and a knowledgeable crew to help you navigate every step of your boating journey.

We can accommodate the majority of craft up to 21.34m. If your beam is greater than 3.66m and air draft is greater than 3.05, we advise you to speak with a member of our Waterside Crew to help you further.

We have 414 leisure berths at Sawley, the perfect home for your boat when you’re not exploring the waterways. You can spend weekend breaks and holidays on your boat in the marina but you can’t live full time or use it as a postal address – you need a residential mooring for that.

We welcome visitors and have visitor berths available for somewhere safe for you to moor for overnight stops and longer breaks. Simply book ahead to moor for the duration you require, which is typically anything from one night up to 2 weeks. You’ll also have access to our facilities and the Waterside crew on hand to help.

Are you a continuous cruiser and need a safe haven for you and your boat over the winter months? At Sawley, your boat has a winter home in a secure Waterside & Marina location, where you can come and go as you please.

Sawley Waterside & Marina is open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 8am until 6pm on Sunday.
